Little did Marcia Riddle, who formerly supervised Barbara Baird, know that when she sent in the paperwork to nominate Barbara for a DSPAT recognition, that Barbara would be one of twelve direct support professionals out of 27,000 DSP’s in the sate of Tennessee to received the prestigious Above and Beyond award. This award was presented to Barbara at the Tennessee Disability Megaconference in Nashville on June 3rd.

Barbara is very deserving of this award with the wonderful life she provides for Bob Smith through her foster care for him  and Gary Hayes. She strives to maintain a wonderful atmosphere for Bob and Gary to experience, and learn about life. With this award and recognition comes a free stay at the conference and a check for $1000.  We at Pacesetters hope this level of care can be strived for by all our direct care professionals and hope to see other staff we employ receive future awards by DSPAT.

Those on hand to see Barbara Baird receive her DSPAT award include, left to right,

Marcia Riddle, Casey Stinson, Bob Smith, Barbara, Karen Galbraith, and Elaine Sherrell.
